Startup Sprint Vol. 13

We'll help you turn an idea into your startup in one weekend.

The Startup Sprint feels like the first months of a startup, but in fast forward. Be part of it!

With or without an idea for your own business - it doesn't matter!

If you want to start your own business or just want to try it out, Startup Sprint is the right place for you! You will find co-founders and develop a sustainable business model together with coaches, which you will present to a prominent jury on the last day.

The Sprint combines hackathon, idea barcamp, matching platform and startup contest. You will work together on your projects in an inspiring atmosphere, and the organizers will provide refreshments.

On Friday, some of you will present your ideas. Together you will select the ten best ideas. Then you will form teams to work on these ideas on Saturday. Mentors and coaches will be on hand the whole time to clarify the details. On Sunday afternoon, the pitches will be made in front of the jury and a large audience - almost like on "Die Höhle der Löwen" - and, of course, the winners will be honored.

Event schedule

Admission from 16:30

On Friday, first of all, it's all about networking. That's right! When you arrive, you should talk and network directly with other participants. Maybe exchange startup ideas already. Oh, and very important: You don't HAVE to bring any ideas. Normally, we have 30 participants with ideas for 100 participants.

From these ideas, you will select the top 10 in the early evening, around which you will then form teams and create startups. And then the teamwork starts. At 10:00 p.m. we kick you out. But continue somewhere else...

from 9:00

We will start on Saturday with a joint breakfast and at the same time our or your mentors will arrive. They will then briefly introduce themselves and their skills, and you can then book them for 30-minute sessions. Most of them will be available between 10:00 and 16:00.

But what you should definitely do on Saturday is validate your business idea. So you should use all avenues online as well as offline (especially offline!!) and interview people to see if they also have the problem you have the solution for and how they deal with it. Conduct qualitative interviews! How to set them up? This will be explained to you by the... mentors! Of course!

Otherwise, teamwork is required on Saturday. At 10:00 p.m. we will close the doors from the outside, but you can continue working somewhere else...

from 9:00

The day starts with breakfast and mentors just like Saturday. But Sunday is usually crunch time, because you need to put together your pitch deck to present to the jury and the audience.

Our/your mentors will of course also help with pitch coaching, no question.

From 17:00 on you will compete for the victory in the three categories: Best Pitch - Most Innovative - Best Overall. And afterwards you should network with the jury members - but also with all the other visitors! The Startup Sprint will end at 22:00.

The organizers

The organising team of the Startup Sprint is a group of startup enthusiasts, all with permanent jobs - close to or in the middle of the startup ecosystem. They organise the Sprint non-profit in their spare time - for you and especially for YOU!

As always, the Startup Sprint is organised by The Katapult GbR - this year again together with the teams from CEDUS (HHU Düsseldorf) and Gründungszeit (Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences).
